Forshona Kennels is situated in a lovely rural suburb called Sandford,  located 30 minutes from Hobart, Tasmania. This region is popularly known as "Paradise Peninsula". Much to the dogs delight we are surrounded by three fabulous beaches.

Our introduction to German Shepherds was in 1994 when we were given a six year old bitch already trained in Obedience and Agility and soon after purchased a puppy dog. These two dogs brought about my love and obsession for the breed and my interest in Obedience training.

Our next puppy was a bitch bought especially for obedience trialling. Fortunately she was a very beautiful bitch and we decided to show her as well. She was very successful in this area becoming the state Vice Siegerin in 1999.

Breeding was a natural progression. We produced our first litter in October 2000 and kept two puppies. A dog for our son and daughter-in-law and a bitch for our daughter and son-in-law. Both these dogs have been graded Class 1 Excellent. Forshona is a family affair comprising John and Denise Ashcroft, our Daughter - Sandy Williams, Son-in-Law - Jason Williams, our Son - David and Daughter-in-Law - Angela Ashcroft.

The aim of our Kennel is to produce dogs that comply with the requirements of the G.S. Dog Council of Australia and the T.C.A and make wonderful family pets.
